When You Still Choose Love - When love feels almost impossible
Share
There are days when loving someone in addiction feels almost impossible.
Not because you don’t love them —
but because you’re tired of being afraid.
Tired of wondering.
Tired of hoping and hurting at the same time.
Some days, love feels strong.
Other days, it feels fragile.
Unsure.
Quiet.
And yet, you still choose it.
You still answer the phone.
You still worry.
You still care.
You still hold space for someone who feels lost.
That choice matters more than you realize.
Even when nothing changes.
Even when no one notices.
Even when it feels like it makes no difference.
Love in this kind of situation is not loud.
It is patient.
It is brave in ways no one applauds.
If today feels heavy, please remember:
You are not weak for still loving.
You are not foolish for still caring.
You are not wrong for still hoping.
You are human — and you are doing the best you can in a situation that gives no easy answers.

If you’d like more support on this journey, I’ve written several books for parents and loved ones loving someone through addictive addiction. If it feels helpful, you can explore them here.
